FEMA Releases More Hurricane Michael Mental Health Funding

Recovery Efforts Continue In Hurricane-Ravaged Florida Panhandle

More help is in store for those struggling to recover from Hurricane Michael. First Lady Casey DeSantis announced yesterday that FEMA has released almost 700-thousand dollars for crisis counseling in parts of Northwest Florida affected by the storm.

DeSantis says, “This program is very unique because it literally puts boots on the ground in the community ... counselors who are meeting with people and knocking on doors,” DeSantis believes that a full recovery can't happen unless both physical and mental health needs are met.
