Tech Companies Developing Anti-Hate Speech Guidelines

Facebook, Snapchat, and other major social media heavyweights are joining the Anti-Defamation League to create guidelines for rooting out hate speech online.  The ADL launched its new Center For Technology and Society at the organization's Never is Now! summit in San Francisco on Monday.  The ADL says it will lean on its tech partners to come up with strategies for social networks trying to head off inflammatory rhetoric in open forums.  

The effort is beginning at Facebook, Twitter, and other social media are in a scramble to find better ways to patrol their sites.
