(Detroit, MI)  --  General Motors is recalling more than 292-thousand Chevy Cruze cars over faulty brakes.  The recall covers models with a one-point-four liter turbocharged engine and six-speed automatic transmission.  The defect can cause loss of the brake assist function, which has been tied to 27 low-speed crashes, but no injuries.  The problem mostly impacted 2011 and 2012 models.
